Happy Monday Y’all!
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed all the St. Patrick’s Day festivities! Greensboro was very busy this weekend due to the NCAA Basketball Tourney being in town; which meant I didn’t get to see Sam very much. We were able to have lunch together on Saturday before he had to start his shift (for those of you who don’t know, he’s a bartender) and enjoyed a beer or two to celebrate the wonderful Irish holiday!
Let’s rewind to Friday evening for a minute. I had a work event that I attended and for attending this event you got a FREE pizza. I thought that would be perfect for dinner. I took the pizza to my mom and sister’s house and after our first bite my sister and I both agreed that it was terrible! We immediately tossed it in the trash, got in the car and went to pick up salad’s. We also had to share a smoothie to get that nasty taste out! We definitely learned out lesson and will continue to eat clean, even when we are offered free pizza!
This morning for breakfast I mixed Kashi Heart to Heart cereal with Love Grown Foods Granola , strawberries and skim milk….it was delish!
Lunch today consisted a greek salad with grilled chicken…it was also delish!
Lets hope dinner is just a good as the rest of my meals today!
I am also really excited that my trainer is back from LA! I’m ready for a for a good sweat session 🙂
I have never been a clean eater, that’s probably one of the reasons I need to shed a few pounds, but tonight I decided that it is something I really need to work on. I had dinner with my little sister, we went to a little deli and needless to say I didn’t eat clean; not long after I ate I felt terrible. That’s when I knew I had to make a huge change in my eating.
I decided to check out Clean Eating Magazine online to see what they offered and to my surprise they offer a 2 week Meal Plan and it even includes a grocery shopping list! I’m in love!!! I am not sure if I have told you all or not but I am not the best cook so finding a meal plan with a shopping list and recipes will be a huge help to me in the kitchen! Woot Woot 🙂
I am so excited to try out the Clean Eating Meal Plan so I come home with more to eat than this, I bet my hubby would appreciate having food in the fridge too 😉
I am sad to say that I haven’t done as well with my blog as I had hoped. I thought that it would be easy for me to write every evening after dinner but to be honest with you all, it hasn’t been easy at all. I started a notebook when I first created my blog to write down ideas, different workouts and what I eat, but for some reason I didn’t keep up with Getting Fit n Fabulous 😦
So here I am, sitting on my couch while dinner is cooking professing my newfound dedication to the blogging community to keep up with my blog! I have decided to set aside at least 30 minutes at least
4make that 5 times a week. My blog is supposed to be me sharing my journey of weight loss, eating healthy and hitting the gym with all of you but to also be a tool to help me stay on track and keep focus. Really, it keeps me accountable!
With all of that said, I am really exciting to committed to my blog! Maybe one day I can inspire someone the way so many of your blogs have inspired me!
Time for dinner and to catch up on a few DVR shows 🙂
Like most people I am not a huge fan of the scale but I decided to break down and get my butt on the scale and to my surprise I have lost a pound in a week…WOOT WOOT!!! It is the little things in life that really count. Sam and I have been working out together since the beginning on January and while I am down 8lbs he has lost 22lb! WOW! I always knew that men lost weight quicker (and easier) than women but it doesn’t make it any less frustrating.
Yesterday I had the most amazing salad. It had fresh pineapples, oranges, cucumbers, red peppers among all the other “normal” salad fixings. It was an explosion of flavor in my mouth….yum!!!
Then I made this awesome egg scramble for dinner, it consisted of 3 eggs, red onion, asparagus and brocoli with a hint of 1/3 less fat cream cheese. It was awesome and super filling!
Loosing 8lbs so far is awesome but I am also feeling so much better about the way my body looks and how I feel in clothes. It is truly amazing what exercise and healthy food can do for your body. I’ve also noticed that my skin looks healthier, I think that has something to do with all the water I’ve been drinking!
I am working out with my trainer tomorrow so I will definitely be sure to write down my exercises so I can share them with you.
Time to do the dishes and get ready for bed! I’m so glad tomorrow is Hump Day!!
Good Night Everyone 🙂
I can’t believe it but I actually went to the gym on a Saturday! I had scheduled a workout with my wonderful trainer, Gina, so I was definitely being held accountable! Before I tell you all a little about my awesome workout I’d like to tell you a little bit about the gym I belong to. Two years ago I joined ACT by Deese a local gym owned by Prince and Gina Deese. I started going and immediately fell in love with not only the gym but the staff as well. ACT by Deese is a place where people of all ages, races, shapes and sizes feel comfortable. I have had several gym memberships in the past and I always felt uncomfortable, I am not saying there is anything wrong with the larger gyms but they just aren’t for me.
Attitude, Compisition, Training
Yesterday I started with a quick warm up on the ARC trainer then Gina had me focus on abs. On Thursday I did a complete body workout which just about killed me! One of my favorite ab moves had to be The Superman!
I really need to start logging the different types of exercises I do so I can share them with you all. I can remember how to perform the move but I can never remember what they are called. I will work on that this week!
This has to be my LEAST favorite ab move!I am paying for it today…my abs are super sore, but in a good way!:I can’t believe that it is already dinner time on Sunday! Why do the weekends have to go by so quickly?
